Personality[]

The Farmer is a friendly man who always makes sure his animals on the Barnyard are fed and well cared for. He is also a vegan both confirmed in the movie and an later episode in the series. Trivia[]

  • The Farmer is a vegetarian, as revealed in one episode of Back at the Barnyard as well as in the movie The Barnyard.
  • In "Buyers Beware," the Farmer's last name is revealed to be Buyer, but his first and middle name and age are unknown.
  • Despite his simple life as an agriculturalist, he's shown to have various hobbies and interests that are rather interesting.
    • One episode shows that he's really into videogames, even owning an old-school game console that Otis and the others accidentally broke and ended up having to babysit Snotty Boy to earn enough money to buy a replacement.
    • He has skills in comedy, attending things like a comedy camp.
    • In the episode where Otis accidentally blows up the barn with an atom smasher's, the farmer's shown to be a skilled fire dancer.
    • One episode implies that Farmer Buyer has some underlying issues, such as anger issues -- in one episode, he's shown attending an "anger management camp," and the clip we see of said camp shows him lashing out at some of the other people attending it.
  • In The Farmer Takes a Woman, it's revealed that he was married at one point -- however, it seems that his wife has passed away (meaning that he's a widower).
  • In one episode of Back at the Barnyard, the Farmer shows a photo of his mother, telling her that he's a winner when he was a teenager.
  • While he has a comparably bigger role in the series than the movie, Farmer Buyer appears less and less as the show goes on. It gets to the point of where Otis and the others are the ones essentially running the farm.
    • Most of the time, Farmer Buyer's absence is justified by claiming that he's off visiting a relative (one episode claimed that he was out of town visiting his sister) or he's at a "camp" of some sort (there was one episode where was off at a "hand puppet camp").
