Abby is one of the main characters in Back at the Barnyard and also she is the main protagonist of its episode Abby and Veronica. She replaces the character Daisy from the film.
Early life
When she was young, Abby grew up with 18 brothers, an upsetting uncle, and her cousin Veronica. Throughout her childhood, she and Veronica played together and she was bullied by her older brothers.
Eventually, Abby moved to the Barnyard and met Otis and the other barn animals.
Personality
Abby is friends with everyone, though Freddy's unstable mental health frequently strains their friendship. Abby is also very athletic, allergic to petunias, has an obsessive-compulsive addiction for organizing, and loves cats.
In one episode, it is revealed that Abby has some kind of a double personality, in which she was acting like a very nice, innocent cow, then the other second, she was acting like a strong, rough cow. She seems to be very competitive and very pushy and rebellious at times. She is known to be very rough as seen in one episode that when she explained her cousin was exactly the same as her, they were terrified and imagined her doing bad stuff to Otis, Pip, Freddy, Peck and Pig.
Appearance
Abby is a light brown female ox with dark-beige spots and hooves, blue eyes, and for some reason she has blonde humanlike hair tied into a braided ponytail held with a purple hairbow and golden hoop earrings.
Trivia
- Her hooves are shinier than most.
- In "Cupig," it’s revealed that Abby uses blonde hair dye.
- She’s allergic to petunias.
- Abby is a replacement to Daisy from the movie for Otis' love interest in the show as well as being an another prominent female. When and why she became part of the barnyard is unknown. And it was never stated if she knew Daisy or Lil' Ben. Why the creators replaced Daisy for her is unclear. Possible reasons could be because Daisy was a more serious and too sweet and innocent and a not so funny character making it hard to write her in the show (at least for significant reasons), and proabably having an adventuerous comical female could be why she replaced her. Overall, this maybe one of the reasons of the show being a major improvement over the movie. Another possibility could be Courtney Cox could probably not reprise her role or refused eventhough Kevin James didn't reprise Otis, being a less likely reason.
- She was crying in Barnyard Games, Otis’ Mom, Pig Amok, Everett’s Treasure and Pig of the Mole People.
